There are so many things I wish I could go back an There are so many things I wish I could go back and do differently on my journey with cancer. Asking more questions. Getting more opinions. Not allowing the fears of others to take over my life and convince me to do treatments or therapies I now know are harmful to the body and immune system. Let me make something clear, I am NOT an advocate for not using conventional medicine in the right setting!!!! I just believe we have the BEST possible outcome when we combine conventional medicine with integrative therapies that support our body!!! It’s OK to ask questions. It’s OK to pave your own way on this journey. Every single human on this earth was born with a unique genetic code, which means every single cancer patient, (even those that share the exact same diagnosis) have a unique and different cancer. What works for one patient may not work for another patient?! The problem with “standard of care” is the same treatment is given to ALL of us in the hopes we will all respond. But we know from statistics, that rarely happens. So PAVE YOUR OWN WAY! Do your research from reputable sources!! Work with a functional medicine doctor if you are able…someone that can help support your body through chemo/surgery/radiation. Screen shot this, go to our website to download it, share it with a patient that you know has recently been diagnosed. I wish I would of had this list of questions when I was diagnosed 🙏💙 Questions from my amazing doc/friend/mentor @drnashawinters! Go follow her. She’s a wealth of information and a 27 YEAR survivor of Stage 4 ovarian cancer!!! #integrativemedicine #askquestions #sherrystrong #ovariancancer #youareastatisticofone

Look at you. Even when life plays no music, you’ Look at you. Even when life plays no music, you’re still dancing. - @jaiyajohn Here’s the thing…life is gonna be hard. We’re all going to go through times of struggle and suffering. But we have two choices when we wake up everyday. We can choose to evolve or repeat? We can choose to wake up and be angry at God or the world for the hand we’ve been dealt. Or we can choose to have a positive mindset and use our struggles for good. Asking God why He put us on this road to begin with? For me, that’s been to hopefully be a beacon of hope and light for others fighting this illness everyday. There’s been so many times I’ve been tired and wanted to hide away and just battle this disease on my own. And then in the quiet hours of the morning, God speaks to me and says, No sweet child. I put you here for a reason. To bring hope, inspiration and light to those that need it. Stand up and be proud of the battles you have fought. Be proud of the person you have become. Because God has a plan and purpose for all of us in this life. It may not be one we would have chosen but we don’t get to decide. We do get to decide how we are going to walk that path everyday. So I choose Joy. Love. Hope. Faith. Positivity. Grace. And every single time I see the sun set, I’ll choose to dance. ♥️ Happy Sunday #bethelight #positivity #ovariancancerawareness
